Looking back at 125 years of the Clocktower Article

In celebration of the Clocktower's 125th anniversary, from 31st May - 6th June, local railway and history enthusiasts from Nottingham Railways Remembered, hosted an exhibition in our South Square to showcase items from Victoria train station and photographs spanning from the early 1900's to present day.

During the course of the exhibition, hundreds of visitors came to take a peak into our history. Dozens of historical photos were on display, showcasing not just the history of the Clocktower, but Victoria train station as a whole, and the importance it held in the Nottinghamshire community. 

Amongst the items on display was the original 'running in' board from Victoria train station, which is a whopping 7ft in length! This gave visitors the rare opportunity to see a physical piece of local history in person. Also on display was a 3D model of the train station, with intricate details giving visitors a look at how the station and Clocktower looked side by side.

The host of the exhibition, Janine Tanner from Nottingham Railways Remembered group, is an avid history and railways enthusiast, and is passionate about educating the public on their local history. We'd like to thank everyone who visited the exhibition, and Nottingham Railways Remembered for bringing together this excellent display.
