Veganuary at Victoria Centre - Vegan products for January and beyond Article
If you’ve thought about trying a plant-based lifestyle but haven’t made the leap yet, January is the perfect time to take up the challenge. Veganuary is the returning trend helping people start the year in a way that’s happy and healthy for themselves and the planet.
From food, drinks to beauty, shoes and accessories, we’ve pulled together a list of our favourite plant-based and sustainable items to embrace this year’s Veganuary and live a more sustainable 2022.
For the first time ever, McDonalds has released its vegan burger, the McPlant (£3.49). They have partnered with Beyond Meat to create a juicy plant-based patty which is accompanied by vegan sandwich sauce, ketchup, mustard and pickles, lettuce, tomato and vegan cheese, all sandwiched between a sesame seed bun.
Visit McDonalds on the lower mall to try the McPlant for yourself.
The home of delicious doughnuts, Krispy Kreme has updated its 1937 original recipe to bring us a plant-based selection of new favourites. Joining the vegan line up at Krispy Kreme, this year's brand new offering includes the indulgent chocolatey Fudge Brownie Bliss, the decadent Caramel Choc Delight, and the moreish Apple Custard Crumble, topped with icing and a cinnamon crumble crumb (all £2.35). All 100% vegan and 100% delicious.
To satisfy your sugar cravings, visit Krispy Kreme in our Clocktower Dining area.
Your local burrito and taco joint, Tortilla, serves wholesome Mexican dishes with a Californian Twist. From burrito and salad bowls to fully loaded nachos, the menu offers a wide selection of plant-based fillings, including a signature vegan chilli-no-carne, made with organic tempeh, pinto beans, veggies and authentic spices.
Especially for veganuary, Tortilla has introduced its new Vegan Quesadilla (starting at £6.50), its first menu item with a plant-based cheese alternative. Smoky vegan cheese, vegan chilli-no-carne and grilled seasonal vegetables are toasted between a soft flour tortilla, served with a side of tortilla chips, fresh salsa verde and hand-smashed guacamole.
Stop by for a refreshing lunchtime snack at Tortilla, located on the lower mall, and check out what other vegan delights are on the menu.
Going vegan doesn’t mean you can’t indulge in the nostalgia of sweets, and Treat Kitchen is the perfect place to tempt those with a sweet tooth. With Radioactive Sours (£10.00) and a range of vegan gummies (starting at £1.00) there’s a whole host of sweets to sample this veganuary. To risk temptation, visit Treat Kitchen on the lower mall.
A plant-based lifestyle doesn’t just have to start and finish with what we eat and drink. The vegan fashion industry is bigger than ever, with more and more brands opting for more sustainable and responsibly-sourced material choices.
