Design a spider for the Emett Clock
Competition Terms & Conditions
For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, “The Promoter” refers to Victoria Centre and the “Prize” refers to your spider design being incorporated into the Cobweb Wheel of the newly relocated Emett Clock.
By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Competition Details
Let your imagination spin a web of creativity. Victoria Centre is looking for a unique spider design to feature on the Cobweb Wheel of the Emett Clock.
Entrants should download and use the official template provided when creating their design. The template is available here: https://victoria-centre.com/spider-for-emett-clock/
Eligibility
- Entry is open to residents of Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland).
- Entrants must be under 16 years of age on the competition closing date.
- Entries submitted on behalf of a child must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- Employees of The Promoter and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
- No purchase is necessary, and no payment is required to enter the competition.
Design Requirements
All entries must meet the following requirements:
-Designs may be inspired by nature, fantasy, whimsy, or the entrant’s own imagination.
– The spider’s body must fit within the official template shape provided.
– The spider must have eight (8) legs, all attached to the body.
– Designs may include colours, patterns, etching, jewels, decorative details and other creative embellishments.
– Entries must be the entrant’s original work and must not infringe the rights of any third party.
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that is incomplete, inappropriate, offensive, or does not comply with these requirements.
Competition Closing Date
All entries must be received by 11:59pm on 20 September 2026.
Entries received after this date and time may not be considered.
Judging and Winner Selection
- The winning design will be selected by the Victoria Centre team and Pete Dexter.
- Judging will be based on creativity, originality, suitability for the Cobweb Wheel of the Emett Clock, and adherence to the design requirements.
- One (1) winner will see their design adapted and fitted to the clock.
- The winning entrant will be notified via the email address provided with their entry on or after the judging date.
- The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Use of Designs
By entering the competition, entrants and their parent or guardian (where applicable) grant The Promoter the right to display, publish, reproduce and promote submitted designs in connection with the competition, the Emett Clock and Victoria Centre marketing activities.
The winning design may be adapted, modified, resized, simplified or otherwise adjusted to meet engineering, manufacturing, safety or mechanical requirements. Whilst reasonable efforts will be made to preserve the essence of the design, the final installed version may differ from the original entry.
Prize Conditions
- The Prize is non-negotiable, non-transferable and non-refundable.
- No cash alternative is available.
- If the Prize becomes unavailable for any reason, The Promoter reserves the right to substitute it with a prize of equal or greater value.
- The winner’s name, parent/guardian details (where applicable), email address and telephone number may be requested to facilitate prize fulfilment.
- The Prize will be forfeited if the winner or their parent/guardian does not acknowledge and respond to the winning notification within the timeframe specified by The Promoter.
- The winner must be able to collect the Prize from the Victoria Centre Management Office unless otherwise agreed by The Promoter.
Liability
The Promoter will not be held liable for any failure in the receipt of entries. The Promoter takes no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, illegible, corrupted, damaged, incomplete or otherwise invalid.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, The Promoter’s liability under or in connection with the competition or these Terms and Conditions shall be limited to the cost price of the Prize.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, The Promoter shall not be liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss, damage, cost or expense arising from participation in the competition or acceptance of the Prize.
General
In the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond The Promoter’s reasonable control, The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition or these Terms and Conditions, either in whole or in part, with or without notice.
The Promoter’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
The winner’s first name, age and/or social media username may be published on Victoria Centre’s website and social media channels following winner selection, subject to parental consent where required.
