Code of Conduct

Smile, you’re on camera!

CCTV in operation

This centre is monitored by CCTV for safety purposes, monitoring the security of the premises and the prevention and investigation of crime, but you can lend a helping hand too. If you see anything suspicious please contact us on 0115 912 1207.

You can find out more about how we use our CCTV here: victoria-centre.com/legal/privacy-policy

Drones

You might be able to buy a UAV, or drone, at one of our stores, but please wait until you get home before you try and use it! We are committed to keeping people safe and out of harm’s way when they visit us, as well as protecting the security and privacy of our staff and members of the public, so we don’t allow the use of drones anywhere on our property without express permission. That includes inside our centre, within our retail partners’ stores, in the car parks and on adjacent land, or anywhere else within the centre’s periphery. A member of our Centre Management team would be happy to speak to you if you have any questions, and thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Visitors Code of Conduct

We’re committed to making your experience with us as welcoming as possible. We expect all visitors to behave respectfully and lawfully. With that in mind, we have a few simple house rules that we hope will keep everyone happy.

Here goes…

Please always keep an eye on any children in your care

Harassment, intimidation and discriminatory behaviour of any kind towards other visitors, our staff or our retailers is not acceptable.

Please make sure any clothing with a hood attached is worn down and non religious face coverings are removed e.g balaclavas .

Animals are not allowed, unless they’re assistance dogs.

We don’t allow shopping trolleys on the malls other than in selected areas.

No dropping litter, except in the bins.

No leafleting, canvassing, conducting third party interviews or surveys unless we give the thumbs up.

Selling goods without our go-ahead is not allowed anywhere in the mall, car parks or associated areas.

Vehicles are parked in the mall’s car parks and associated areas unless agreed in advance by Centre Management.

Climbing or sitting on any balustrade, barrier, fence or railings is also off limits, as we’d hate anything to get broken, especially you.

No ball games, even if you are Lionel Messi.

Cycling, roller-blades, micro-scooters, skateboards and Heeley’s are a no-no.

No swearing, shouting or use of other unpleasant language. As your mum might say: ‘It’s not nice and it’s not clever’, and she’d be right.

No inappropriate use of customer lifts and escalators.

To make sure our guests are not always tripping over film crews, we do not allow commercial filming or photography unless you’ve had the green light from centre management first. Just go ahead and ask a member of staff. If you’re taking photos of friends or family though, snap away.

Photographs and film crews occasionally operate within the centre to professionally promote our events and PR purposes. If you do spot one just be yourself because that’s the way we like you.

No throwing any object within the Centre (unless it’s a smile)

Please no running on the malls.

Shirts/tops and footwear must be worn at all times, including the changing rooms of course.

Crash helmets should be removed upon entering the Centre, even if you’re having a really bad hair day.

    Use of toilets…

To ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for all customers and our team, we ask that you follow these guidelines when using our toilet facilities.

Please note our facilities are manned by both male and female attendants at all times.

    • 1. Accessibility and inclusivity
      • We provide inclusive spaces and a range of facilities for everyone, including clearly signposted male, female and unisex toilets, as well as private self-contained options where available.
      • Priority should be given to those who require accessible facilities.
      • Please respect the intended use of the accessible and baby-changing facilities.
      • Our team are always on hand to direct visitors to the options that best meets their needs.
    • 2. Respect for facilities
      • Please leave the toilets in a clean and hygienic condition for the next user.
      • Dispose of waste using the bins provided (including sanitary/nappy/stoma products) in the bins provided.
      • Do not flush items other than toilet paper.
      • There is a provision for hand washing facilities only – Wash hands thoroughly after use and use soap, hand dryers, and paper towels responsibly.
    • 3. Consideration for others
      • Be mindful of other customers waiting—keep usage time reasonable.
      • Avoid unnecessary occupancy or loitering in toilet areas.
      • Please always respect privacy and personal space.
    • 4. Safety and security
      • Report any damage, hazards, or cleanliness issues to a member of our team
      • Do not attempt to access restricted or team member-only areas.
      • If anyone has concerns, our team will listen and take proportionate steps to address them

    And finally…

There is a strictly no smoking policy and alcohol is only to be consumed on licensed premises.

Electronic cigarettes are also not permitted.

Any act of antisocial behaviour, or vandalism towards property belonging to the Centre or our retailers will be dealt with accordingly and the local police informed.

The Centre team can’t cover everything and we have the right to refuse anyone entry to anyone whose actions we feel are inappropriate for the rest of our customers – this includes, but not exhaustive to noise, disturbance or protests of any kind.

Anyone who ignores the above rules or commits a crime will be denied entry for as long as Management see fit and reported to the relevant authorities.

All of which we hope you agree is fair.

But to the ninety-nine point nine per cent of you who are wonderful, lovely people and wouldn’t dream of being the slightest bit anti-social, thank you for taking the time and trouble to read this. Enjoy the rest of your visit.
