The Emett Clock is returning to it’s landmark location!
Our much-loved Emett Clock is returning to its landmark location in the heart of the Centre at South Square – near John Lewis. And we couldn’t be more excited!
The return of our iconic clock marks a major moment in the landmark’s history which holds countless memories for Nottingham shoppers.
For decades, the Emett Clock has held a special place in the hearts of Nottingham people. More than just a clock, it became a meeting place, a city-centre landmark and an unmistakable part of a visit to Victoria Centre. Now, following an extensive programme of restoration, and years of calls to see it returned to its former home, that wait is almost over.
Created by celebrated British artist and inventor Rowland Emett, the extraordinary kinetic clock has been part of Victoria Centre since 1973, becoming one of Nottingham’s most recognisable and best-loved landmarks.
Preparations for its homecoming are now underway in South Square, with the clock set to make its much anticipated return this winter.

Let your imagination spin a web of creativity! We’re looking for a unique spider design to feature on the Cobweb Wheel of the Emett Clock.
Your design can be inspired by nature, fantasy, whimsy, or your own imagination. The spider’s body must fit within the template shape provided and entries are applicable for under 16s.
